Kate and Matt’s Alisal Guest Ranch wedding was beyond stunning. After treating their guests to their beautiful rehearsal dinner and fun welcome party, the wedding was finally here. We had been keeping a close eye on the Alisal Fire that was burning nearby all weekend, but by the wedding day the winds had shifted and the smoke had cleared a bit. This was such a welcome relief!
Getting Ready
We started the day at the beautiful guest cabins at Alisal Guest Ranch where Kate and Matt were getting ready. Before slipping into their gorgeous pink bridesmaid dresses, the girls popped champagne to celebrate the day. While everyone else got ready, Kate and Matt each had a quiet moment where they exchanged heartfelt letters before their first look. The first look is always one of my favorite parts of the day to capture and this was no exception. These two were so excite to see each other and the joy was all over their faces. 
The Bridal Party
We captured bridal party portraits overlooking the lake while helicopters swooped in and out collecting water to fight the nearby fire. The top of the hill was windy and loud but this group were such troopers and the photos were totally worth it. Not many people can have actual helicopters in their wedding photos!
The Ceremony
The ceremony setting was beyond gorgeous. Set under two large oak trees and decorated with white and soft pink florals, it was truly a romantic scene. During the ceremony Kate and Matt were serenaded by a band singing one of their favorite songs. Their vows were personal and so sweet, there wasn’t a dry eye around!
The Reception
After the ceremony, the sun was starting to set to we were chasing the light to the top of the hill for bride and groom portraits. As the sun set over the lake, we were treated to an incredible sunset that made for the most beautiful photos! After photos, Kate and Matt joined their family and friends at their romantic candlelit reception under the trees. The tables were set with white blooms, greenery and table names with locations that were important to them. Their wedding weekend was nothing short of amazing and such an honor to capture!
