Amanda and Nick’s Franciscan Gardens wedding is giving me all the timeless, romantic, secret gardens vibes and I’m obsessed. These two are the sweetest couple and their wedding day was nothing short of amazing! The forecast the day of the wedding was calling for rain almost all day so the plan for an all outdoor wedding had to be changed a bit. We lucked out and after some light rain in the morning, it cleared up and turned into a beautiful day! To be on the safe side, they still moved the reception indoors but the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour were perfect. Plus, we had the most perfect light for portraits!
Portraits
Down the street from Franciscan Gardens is the Mission San Juan Capistrano, which was so beautiful for portraits. The Mission has been around for more than 200 years and couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for bridal party and bride and groom portraits!
From the bride:
First of all, tell me about your love story! How did you meet?
Nick and I met during grad school at the University of Iowa. We were in the same physical therapy grad school program and started dating during our first year. We got to spend lots of time together in class and while studying for the first 3 years of our relationship!
How did Nick propose?
Nick proposed on Thanksgiving of 2020. It was just the two of us at home and he proposed after we had enjoyed a nice dinner! Unfortunately his original proposal plans had been cancelled due to Covid, but it was still perfect.
